A new build 3 storey high school catering for 900 pupils.
The school comprises of general teaching spaces, science laboratories, ICT, group rooms, library, main hall, sports hall, external MUGA, kitchen, servery and dining room.
The project was designed to meet BREEAM very good to comply with ESFA requirements and a 10% carbon reduction was required to meet the local planning requirements, this meant a low energy/carbon building solution was required to be designed by the team.
A combination of high performing building fabric, photovoltaic array, high efficient gas boilers and water heaters was needed to ensure compliance.
The project was delivered fully coordinated in Autodesk Revit to BIM Level 2.

The general teaching spaces were provided with low energy natural ventilation heat recovery systems for external teaching spaces and mechanical ventilation heat recovery for internal teaching spaces, science laboratories were provided with mechanical ventilation heat recovery and along with increased building fabric performance meant the school met stringent ESFA design requirements with a cost effective efficient design.
The heating system was provided via high efficiency gas fired boilers and a mixture of underfloor heating, radiant panels, radiators and LST radiators.
Low energy LED luminaires were used throughout with automatic lighting control with daylight dimming and manual override, to ensure efficient and convenient operation.
