Anderson Green Duties: Full design duties from feasibility to construction drawings including site monitoring responsibilities
Anderson Green worked with Wates Construction Ltd to produce a Stage F2 design for the complete redesign and refurbishment of existing Custody Suite at Colindale Police Station, London.
As well as refurbishing the existing cells, the works included the creation of 5No. new cells, 5No. recorded interview rooms, 3No. consulting rooms and a virtual courtroom. Custody support and healthcare areas were also created in full compliance with MET Police specifications.
Additional duties included a complete refurbishment of the 3rd floor office areas and the design for replacement of existing ceiling mounted fan coil units throughout the whole building including the reconfiguration of the on-site BMS system to suit the new equipment.
Best in Class
Local planning issues were overcome by the design of acoustic screening to shield the new roof mounted external condenser unit needed to supply the new fan coil unit installation.
To ensure the new M&E services would fit and be fully coordinated within the existing Custody Suite ceiling voids. Anderson Green utilising their experience and the latest 3D software, developed the installation solution in a virtual environment working closely with Architectural and structural professionals.
This close collaboration within the virtual environment ensured that all services were designed and coordinated in detail prior to fabrication, eliminating clashes and protecting site programme through quality delivery.
