Anderson Green was employed by HE Barnes to provide M&E Stage 4B designs for the new college located in Dewsbury.
This building is an engineering college which includes general classrooms, motor vehicle workshop and construction workshop at ground floor level.
Starting from Stage 4b the MEP designs were developed from a tender stage 3b design to provide the detailed designs for the variable operating spaces within the building.
We delivered the M & E solutions for HE Barnes in conjunction with the rest of the design team to ensure we met the clients brief and achieve the tender price submitted by HE Barnes.
Best in Class
We delivered our construction stage design to RIBA Stage 4b and this was co-ordinated in a 3D environment using Revit MEP, co-coordinating with the Architects 2D plans and structural engineer’s 3D model.
This allowed us to give certainty that the systems would fit within the ceiling voids given.
The M&E systems were designed to be as energy efficient as possible, with the building achieving an EPC rating of B (28). This was partly achieved by very good LED luminaires and sophisticated lighting controls, which includes daylight dimming and absence detection. This was also aided by naturally ventilating the construction workshop.
