Synopsis
Francis Askew and Eastfield Schools were built under the government’s priority school building programme. Both schools are a new-build 2-storey constructions located in Hull.
Anderson Green were involved with taking the design from RIBA Stage 3 and preparing the detailed 3D co-ordination drawings and schedules for all internal and external M&E services, including the provision of EPC / Part L compliance calculations.
The Mechanical installations comprised gas fired LTHW via radiators and radiant panels, hot water generation plant, mechanical ventilation via heat recovery and automatic controls.
Electrical works consisted of Small Power and Data installation throughout including AV systems. New Lighting, Fire Alarm, Security systems and containment systems throughout.

Hybrid ventilation units were utilised in conjunction with “Raft” style ceilings.
The thermal mass of the concrete soffit was utilised to provide night time free-cooling to minimise energy usage.
All classrooms incorporated full daylight dimming.
