The lighting to the common areas, circulation spaces and bedrooms utilised LED lighting with automatic lighting controls to corridor and common areas. Each cluster of bedrooms has been fitted with energy meters within the communal lounge/ kitchen to allow residents to monitor the energy usage of their individual clusters.
The heating and domestic services to the buildings are provided via the LTHW plant within the Energy Centre which consists of high efficiency condensing boilers and CHP unit. Thermal stores in the plant room and within each cluster of bedrooms are used to store the heat energy therefore maximizes the run time of the CHP throughout the year
