The new Hinkley Point C power station will be constructed in Somerset and once completed, it will provide approximately 900 jobs throughout the 60 years of operation.

To provide sufficient accommodation for the construction workforce moving to the area, new campuses will be provided in Bridgwater and at the Hinkley Point C site to accommodate workers.

The Bridgwater A Campus is the largest of these developments and will provide living space and recreational facilities for 850 workers within 25 separate accommodation buildings. The campus will be complete with an amenity building which includes a canteen, laundry and gym. The Hinkley Point C Onsite Campus will provide living space for 646 workers within 19 separate accommodation buildings.

The new accommodation buildings will be modular built with all modules being constructed at Caledonian Modular facilities located in Newark, this includes a large proportion of

MEP sevices, therefore reducing the onsite installation time.

Anderson Green have provided a technical design service for the MEP installation to the Accommodation building that will be present on both the Bridgwater and Hinkley Point campuses, which have been developed from the previous Stage D designs.

Best in Class

3D modelling and precise engineering of the MEP services throughout the technical design stage has allowed for the installation of all living room services to take place at the Newark factory, with only main services distribution routes through circulation spaces to be installed on-site.

Consideration for a modular build approach, distribution routes, materials used and mounting heights played a key role in providing a solution fit for purpose for a long-term temporary accommodation building to be utilised during the power station construction phase.
