Northern General Hospital Helipad, Sheffield

Value: £900k

Client: Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS Trust

Anderson Green Role:

  • Full Detailed MEP Design including integration into the existing site infrastructure
  • Part L/EPC Production

Synopsis

A key requirement from Sheffield Teaching Hospital was to reduce the time taken for emergency patients to receive urgent critical care assistance.

This project involved the integration of the existing on site GP Collaborative Centre into a shell area below the newly created Helipad structure.

The accommodation included HTM compliant consulting and treatment rooms along with the associated staff and patient support facilities.

The project needed to be undertaken in such a manner so as to not interrupt the operation of the Helipad. The approach influenced key aspects of the successful design.

Best in Class

Anderson Green were directly appointed by the Sheffield Teaching Hospital Trust to initially carry out a feasibility study.

Following approval of this Anderson Green were commissioned for the full MEP detailed design, Part L calculations and site quality inspections.

The project was completed to a good standard and was both finished on time and within budget.
