The new scheme in Blaby Leicestershire includes fifty one- and two-bedroomed flats and a range of communal spaces and facilities where tenants can interact with one another and with the wider community. There will be a hairdressers, café, cinema room, ‘spa’, library, and arts and crafts spaces.
The three storey facility will provide the patients with a comfortable, homely living, with all the benefits of the care needed. The flats are spacious and flexible, so they can adapt to residents’ changing needs, and the design includes a generous amount of semi-private and communal outdoor space.
Anderson Green was responsible for the design of the Mechanical and Electrical services and delivery of the BREEAM Assessment, Building Regulations Part L Compliance Report & EPC and the Thermal Comfort Study.

The building incorporates various sustainable technologies and passive design features, including air source heat pump system, solar shading, natural daylight, automated lighting controls, natural ventilation, highly efficient timber frame design and low carbon materials.
As a result of the above sustainable measures incorporated into the design and carried out during the design and construction processes, the development shall achieved a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ accreditation for sustainability.
