Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
An experienced Mechanical services design engineer is required to support the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of projects from varying market sectors, with services being provided from inception / feasibility to detailed co-ordinated construction working design drawings and specifications through to project inspections, fault finding and maintenance assessments.
You will be required to deliver cost effective design solutions using the latest technology to deliver commercially viable installations.
You will be responsible for typical activities as follows:
- Undertake Feasibility studies
- Undertake building dilapidation surveys and prepare associated reports.
- Reviewing infrastructure designs, preparing load calculations and preparing / lodging initial utility services applications.
- Preparation of detailed budget costs and defined estimates if required
- Prepare concept deign information from RIBA stage A – C in support of project concept design development
- Understand the requirements and have proven experience of delivering these regulatory implications associated with Building regulations Part L and BREEAM
- Work with the mechanical/energy/part L engineers to derive low energy electrical design solutions
- Attend design team meetings and project meetings on behalf of the company.
- Preparing specifications/equipment schedules/drawing and information to installation standards.
- Undertake fully detailed and co-ordinated designs of all HVAC and public health services.
- Undertake tender adjudication, interviews and prepare recommendations reports
- Undertaking sub contractor design drawing reviews and technical submission reviews
- General Report writing
- Undertaking site quality and legislative inspections and prepare associated reports
- Supervising Commissioning of electrical services and site supervision
- Undertake Full electrical services design and integration Maintenance reviews
Qualifications, Experience & Attributes
- Degree or HNC in relevant subject.
- Building services software packages – IES/Tas (not essential), Hevacomp, MS office suite and AutoCad user, although this not essential.
- Smartly dressed and presented
- Articulate and able to communicate at all levels
- Be a team player, but able to operate at an individual level
- Be self motivated and conscientious
- Have a desire to build a career with Anderson Green
- Be open to training, new ideas and be forward thinking in terms of system developments
- Have a UK full driving licence
- Be able to work away from home and stay (approximately 2nights) at relative short notice
