Intermediate Mechanical Engineer
To further support the Environmental Engineering Services team, a vacancy is available for the position of an Intermediate Mechanical Services / Low Carbon Engineer.
The role requires the candidate to demonstrate an understanding at a minimum level of First Year HNC HVAC design and the ability to demonstrate software usage for the sizing of all HVCA systems.
The candidate should also have an understanding of energy related design issues, understand and natural ventilation design principles understand sustainability / renewable design solutions, be conversant with the current requirements of Part L of the Building regulations.
The candidate would preferably hold or be working towards a relevant accreditation on the Low Carbon Accredited schemes, with ability to provide Part L compliance calculations, Energy Performance and Display Energy Certificates.
The candidate must be well presented, articulate and be able to communicate in a confident and professional manner.
The candidate must be a team player and be self motivated and focused on developing their skills to fast track their status as a fully experienced engineer. Support provided towards Chartered Status if so desired.
The candidate would preferable have experience of working within a Design and Build Contracting environment along with experience of Private Practice.
Qualifications;
- HNC/D in relevant subject.
- Working towards or currently Low Carbon Energy Assessor Accredited
- Working towards or currently Part L Accredited
- Working towards or currently EPC / DEC Accredited
- User of Building services software packages – HevaComp or CYMAP, IES / TAS, AutoCAD
