Building Physics

Anderson Green are able to provide a completely integrated building physics service, either as a dedicated commission or as part of a turnkey building services design scheme.

Our building physics team have a wealth of experience and skills to best support the development of optimum building, environmental, energy/carbon reduction and sustainable designs. We advocate the engagement of building physics assessments from day one.

For example, an assessment of the client brief and design team’s proposal is required to identify any changes to individual design decisions which could affect the overall design, and in particular could affect: building user function against orientation (and HVAC servicing), daylight, natural ventilation, air quality, overheating/thermal comfort, building envelope passive design strategies, solar protection/beneficial thermal usage, glare, building performance, occupation response and the building’s overall energy/carbon footprint.

We utilise IES software, using climate-based simulation processes to deliver all our simulation analysis along with integrating CIBSE weather files for current and future climate change assessments.

We have experience undertaking Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) assessments for specialist and bespoke assessments. We have delivered analysis ranging from airflow path simulation through to thermal assessments.

Our team are well versed in delivering compliance assessment reports for the education sector to meet DfE requirements.

The core services offered incorporate daylight simulation, thermal overheating/comfort assessments, glare analysis, all aspects of energy simulation and predictions, natural ventilation assessments and overall building performance reviews.

Building services consultants since 2001.
