Anderson Green offer post-occupancy assessments, either as a formal review, as required by the DfE, or providing individual clients with an independent report on their buildings.

We offer a range of services comprising: review and analysis of actual metered energy and water vs design stage predicted consumption, condition surveys, analysis of system performances from maintenance and commissioning reports, building/occupation utilisation, and the addition of energy reduction and renewable technology improvement opportunities.

In addition to general operational reviews, we are able to provide a formal post-occupancy assessment, which is generally in line with RIBA’s “Post-Occupancy Evaluation” (POE) paper (October 2020), which included the following different levels of complex assessments:

1. Light Touch POE: A simple but meaningful rapid evaluation undertaken at the post-occupancy stage, before the building contract concludes.
2. Diagnostic POE: Feedback from a light touch POE may highlight the need for a more detailed review of the building.
3. Detailed (Forensic) POE: A comprehensive investigation by independent evaluators to identify and resolve any significant or persistent performance issues.

Part of our process is to engage with each building owner to agree on the specific items or areas for review and investigation, as well as to develop a bespoke set of occupier questionnaires if required, which could include topics such as:

• Glare
• Ventilation issues
